Twitter Terminology

Ever wonder what's all these so called 'Twitter Lingo' .. words like 'Tweeple', 'Twools', 'Twirt' and many more that begin with 'Tw'?

You are not alone.

Millions of netizens including Geeks who are regarded as web-savvy are also equally clueless as to just what the heck are all these 'Twingo' (Twitter Lingo) which apparently only emerges on the surface of earth or rather, coined by some smart Twitter users who typically call themselves 'Tweeple' (Twitter People) pretty recently.

I didn't realize Twitter has become so popular until one day, I was directed by a peer to take a look at something interesting at Twitter and to my horror, I realized I am actually an illiterate because I couldn't understand what was stated in the 'Tweets' (Twitter Postings), somethuing that's supposedly simple messages! I then told myself the world must have changed so much or you may say, Twitter has changed the world so much so that people are starting to use a new language in their daily communication called 'Twingo'.

I turned to Google for help on terms like 'Twirt', 'Twools', 'Tweeple' but I was disappointed because while there are people who blogged about this new phenomenon, there is simply no website where you can find the answers to the fabulous language called Twingo. I was jumping from blog to blog and only after browsing through some 10-20 blogs did I manage to find out the true meaning of the Twingo that sounded like Greek to me (back then). I therefore decided to start a website dedicated to nothing but Twingo, just so Tweeple especially the newly converted ones do not have to go through what I have gone through.

I wanted to create a spot where everyone can find the answer to Twingo instantly, or perhaps to contribute and to discuss about any creative Twingo they may have coined up and to discuss about it with fellow Tweeple. I must admit I don't have the right resources to create a technically superior website for the purpose right now, nonetheless, I try whatever I can to make references on Twingo available and I will continue to scout for assiatnce in order to make things better for fellowTweeple, hopefully in teh not too distance future.

Go straight to the Glossary for definations of existing Twingo and if you have something new, not necessarily a new Twingo coined by you, share it with fellow Tweeple even it is something you heard from the grapevine, post it on 'New Twingo' (under 'New' on the menu) and if there is no objection, I'd transafer the new term to the Glossary fro official reference.
